Message Drop:

What is it?

Simulates dropping message from rescue aircraft to rescues.

Can you describe it in more detail?

Message drop is arguably the most enjoyable event on the flight team. Where else can you throw out a wooden bock out of an airplane at a target on the ground? The event consists of a two man crew: The pilot, and drop master. The pilot flies no lower than 200 feet AGL at a speed of 100kts past the designated target. Upon reaching the target the drop master releases the block with the message inside.

How is Message Drop scored?

After three consecutive drops the crew with their block closest to the target wins the event. For the official NIFA testing and event rules please visit NIFA's website.

How do I become a part of Message Drop?
