About Us
Representing Embry-Riddle's
Daytona Beach campus, the Eagles Flight Team competes at the annual National
Intercollegiate Flying Association's (NIFA) National and Regional Safety and
Flight Evalation Conferences (SAFECON).
The events that we compete in are not aerobatic, but instead are precision
flying and knowledge events. For more information on the events that
we train for and compete in, please visit the "Events" section of this website.
These events help develop a pilot's ability to fly an airplane in a safe and
competent manner. The team has weekly practices of all events and has the honor
to fly the Team's Cessna 150's and Tecnam Echo Classic for landing events.
The Team also utilizes the University's fleet of Cessna 172S Nav III's for the
navigation and message drop events.
The team is active outside of competition as well. We also volunteer for
community and campus projects, as well as help contribute to the safety and
quality of aviation in our area.
Any student at Embry-Riddle's Daytona campus can join the Eagles Flight Team. There is no minimum flight
time, experience, or rating requirements to become a member of the
team (however, some events do have specific requirements).
To learn more about becoming a part of the Eagles Flight Team, please visit the
prospective members
webpage.
